International Thespian Society Troupe #1458

The International Thespian Society (ITS) is a theatre honor society that gives students with a passion for the dramatic arts, a chance to further her knowledge and display her talents.  There are ITS troupes all around the world, and Ladywood is lucky enough to participate in this esteemed society.  Our troupe, Troupe #1458, celebrates the excitement and life of the theatre arts.

Members are inducted through a point system.  Before they are officially a member, inductees must earn ten points.  Five of these points must be earned at Ladywood and must come from two parts of the theatre (i.e. acting and tech work).  The induction takes place at the end of the year, usually in April.  To celebrate this event, inductees and official members dress-up as their favorite character from a monologue, play, musical, etc. and perform a skit for the student body.  Once a member, students will participate in various activities.

Activities include:

• School musical and one-act plays

• Promoting theatre department at annual open houses

• Attending and competing at the Michigan Thespian Festival

• Homecoming Week Skit

• Service Projects
• Outreach Programs

• Tech and acting workshops

Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month.  All girls are welcome to participate in activities and meetings!
