Volunteering is a great way to meet people, rekindle friendships, get involved, and stay informed.

WELCOME PICNIC - Casual/fun event. The Moms Club Board organizes a picnic lunch for
the incoming freshmen, new upperclassmen, and their families. Volunteers are needed to assist with decorating, setting up, serving lunch, and cleaning up. Committee must send a flier/invitation with RSVP to obtain an attendance estimate. Born the school cafeteria and the Activity Center are used. Simple decorations and raffle prizes. The Dads Club assists by manning the grill.
GRADE LEVEL REPRESENTATIVE - Plan and serve refreshments for one Moms Club meeting during the year. Decorating is minimal/optional. If necessary, assist Board during the school year. The Boards hosts the September, April, May, and June meetings. Grade 12 hosts October, Grade 11 hosts December, Grade 10 hosts February, and Grade 9 hosts March. No meetings in November and January.
FUNDRAISING - After consulting with the Principal and the Executive Board, organize the annual fundraiser that is held at the beginning of the school year. Meet with company representatives. Plan kick-off, incentives, prizes, etc. with approval of Principal. Collect returns. Distribute prizes.
BACK-TO-SCHOOL NIGHT - Informal, casual event. Prepare and serve refreshments for all attending parents.
NHS INDUCTION - A formal event with linen tablecloths and centerpieces. The staff and students plan the program, which is held in the Activity Center. The Moms Club decorates the school cafeteria and plans the reception with punch, coffee, tea, cheese trays, fruit trays, etc. (Don't forget the NHS cake!) Large group of students, parents and staff arrives at one time.
FALL DANCE - A semi-formal event (formerly known as the Homecoming Dance). Decorate the school cafeteria where beverages and simple snacks will be served. Assist the Student Council as necessary with their decorations and plans. Dads’ Club members recruit chaperones.
SENIOR/PARENT LITURGY - A formal, "linen tablecloth" event. Organize and prepare decorations and refreshments. Students and staff plan a Mass that is held in the Provincial House Chapel. After the liturgy, students, parents and staff return to school cafeteria for refreshments. Large group of people arrives at one time!
FALL OPEN HOUSE - A casual, cheerful event. Decorate and serve refreshments (fruit trays, cheese trays, cookies, cider, donuts, etc.) in the school cafeteria. Held for 7th and 8th grade students and their families. First impressions are very important as we welcome prospective students to LHS!
FACULTY APPRECIATION LUNCHEON - A formal "linen tablecloth" event. Pick a theme. Hire a caterer. Decorate. Collect gift certificates or small items for raffle prizes..
VALENTINE DANCE - A semi-formal event. The Student Council picks the theme. Moms assist the Student Council as requested. Dads’ Club will recruit chaperones.
MOTHER/DAUGHTER MASS AND BRUNCH - A formal, catered, BIG event! Tickets are sold, as space is limited. Mass is held in the Provincial House Chapel, followed by brunch in the Activity Center. A lot of planning, organization and effort goes into this event! Students and staff plan the liturgy. Entertainment follows the brunch. Committee members collect donated prizes for raffle.
SPRING OPEN HOUSE - Warm and friendly atmosphere. Decorate cafeteria. Plan, prepare, and serve refreshments.
FRESHMAN ORIENTATION Casual/fun event. Activity Center is set up by the staff. The Moms Club serves refreshments in the school cafeteria after the presentation. We also purchase t-shirts for the incoming freshmen. Large group of students, parents, and staff welcomed at one time!
SENIOR TRIBUTE A formal event, with decorations featuring Ladywood or Senior Class colors. Prepare and serve refreshments. Send invitations prior to event. May want to have Kleenex on hand! Large group of students, parents and staff gathers at one time.
